12x36 only one eyepiece focus

My Canon 12x36 IS 5.6" binoculars has two problems. When focusing, only one eyepiece moves (the right one). Also, when activating the image stabilization, only a loud buzzing can be heard but the image is not stabilized. Can anything be done with this unit?

The focus between the two lenses is not synchronized; when I zero the eyepiece lenses and try to use the center wheel to focus, I can only get one clear image at a time.

Here's how: Focus the left side first. Close your left eye and now rotate the right hand eyepiece (dioptre ring) until the right hand side is clearly focused. Open both eyes! Surprise! both sides should now be in focus simultaneously!!

My left eyepiece on my Zhumell 20X80 will not turn to allow me to focus it. The right one works just fine. I don't want to force the left eye piece. Is there a locking mechanism I'm not aware of? Is this defective? Dave

Typically the left eye piece is not adjustable. You focus the left eye with the center adjustment and then focus the right eye with the eye piece adjuster. I hope this helps.

I have an elderly (estimated age of 47 years) Omega binocular # 4686, 30X50 Extra Wide Angle, that the lead screw for the focus has broken at the eyepiece adjustment bracket. I would like to get it reparied. A replacement part should be enough. Is there a source for the part? In the worst case, a mechanical drawing of the part would allow a machinest to fashion one for me.

So i have a better understanding of the part you require. do you mean the finger adjustment screw that you use to focus with ? robert

I bought a skyquest xt10i telescope and am trying

A star is always just a point of light no matter what magnification you use! If you are seeing a "disk" when you focus on a star you are NOT focused! Make it a tiny dot.Why not try focusing on the moon or Mars and Saturn. You will always need to re=focus slightly when you move to another sky object.

Binoculers do not appear to be focussing properly.

Binox have a prism in each barrel to invert the image. When dropped or banged around the prisms may move in their mounts creating the problem you present. I have opened binox and reset the prism effecting a correction, but IF you unit is nitrogen filled you will be losing that anti-fogging benefit. If you choose to open your pair, check for movement in each prism, neither should be loose. Once you find the original proper placement, a drop of crazy glue does wonders - just a drop on one edge.

PENTAX 8X40 PCF WP II BINOCULARS: The right eyepiece covers (2) fall off and on now very easily. The adjusting wheel does not control the rough focus of the right eyepiece. There are 2 small holes in the exposed eyepiece where there might have been some 'pins'. (My guess.) When I hold a pin in the hole the central control wheel does move the right lens and adjusts the rough focus.

The right lens is also controlled (overridden) by the diopter focus ring. may take both pins to repair.
