West marine binoculars

I was given these binoculars and there is a button on top, I didn't know what it was , and your website explained that it is a range finder. Well to the problem, I pushed the button and nothing happened, I checked the battery, dead. I replaced it and still nothing. I think the button is stuck or broken, how do I access the button without tearing the rubber armor? And if the button is broken where can I get one and all the usual questions. Thanking you in advance oh great and wise binoc gurus. Michael Bailey

Suggested Questions And Answer :

Who made these marine binoculars?

Without seeing a picture it is difficult but there is hope. Most binoculars branded by companies other than the big three come from China. Namely the Kunming United Optics Corporation. Just type in United optics China into google. Have a look at the BC 6 in the compact binoculars section they may look like your ones. Not many 8x26 units are nitrogen filled so I'm guessing on this one. They have a support section and may be able to help.

I need a new compass for tasco 322 BCW waterproof binoculars. Any ideas where I can find one?

Open the battery door, clean all inside with Alcohol & Q-tip. Check that the AG10 or 389 batteries are positive up. Now the compass dial pivots on a shaft. It seems to get caught. Take a strong magnet and rotate it above the compass lying horizontal and spin it until it spins freely. Take it away slowly. Does the compass settle down to accurate heading? If so place back in the top of the model 322BCW observing the glued in marks on the clear window area. Re-screw in, press brass button red LED should light.. If NOT recheck for corrosion. Regards, Don

I use Fujinon Mariner 7x50 WPC-XL binoculars to measure the distance to marine mammals from a ship. I measure reticules down from the horizon to the animal, and I know my eye height above sea level. The other value I need to know is the angle of declination between successive reticule lines (in degrees) - would you please let me know what this value is for these binoculars? Many thanks.

Dont Quote me in any manual anywhere but, I would try 45 degree's Hope this helps
