On top of the celestron binoculars, oceana series, with compass their is a white lens. i pushed it in and am hesitant to try removing the cover without specific direction. do you know how to replace the little white lens?
I saw the picture of the cover you're trying to figure out how to take off. There is a good chance there are screws under the plastic nipples on the cover, and you might be able to pry them up with a fine knife blade, but there is a chance they will be pretty chewed up by the time you're done. They don't make these things to be "customer serviced", and that's the rub. You would have to get a factory repair manual to know how to effect repairs, but even at that, you will have to find replacement parts.
I can't say that there are screws under the plastic nipples, but they are there for a reason, and I would guess, as you have, that that's the reason (hiding screws). I guess it will come down to whether or not you want to try it, and I can't guarantee that the end results will look very pretty.
Wish I could offer more advice, but not having access to the service manual, I can only take an "educated" guess.
Good luck, hope this helps, and thanks for using FixYa. Read More At : Oceana 7x50 IF Binocular...
