ITT night mariner 160

My advice ,if i were you, would be to leave the batteries in for a day and leave your unit turned on. either leave the cap on, or put it in a closet and see if it works better. The new AAA batteries should be fine i'm sure you have how to put the four in correct, and yes they are all that's needed. But leaving your unit on for the day will do a few things. First, it puts a current through all of the working components, i.e. light gathering elements and your infrared components. They may "wake up" from being on and they may not. But at the very worst you are only out the cost of four triple A's.

Pitch black I have a older model monocular night owl which was working fine up until a few months ago. I recently tried to use it but I can't see anything through it now. I changed the batteries and still nothing but darkness. I bought it second hand but it worked fine then. It has not been rough handled nor have I tried to look through it into direct light. Is this a fixable problem or should I justt junk the thing?

Unscrew front lens front of intensifier tube should have an even bronze tinted coating on glass if it is grey and blotchy the tube is degassed. common fault with this model nightvisionwayne

Night owl optics night vision monocular model # nocx5 explorer pro . thin wire inside battery compartment has been severed. anyone know where i can get this repaired? unit worked fine b4 this happened. thank you

Yes, at Night Owl Optics in El Paso, Texas. This is not a mandatory option. You can do it you self. You can see the white wire in a slot just under the aluminum thread ring for the battery cap. Is this where the wire is broken at? Need a small dental pick with 90 degree bend on the end/you can make one, also some tweezers or small needle nose pliers. Use the hook to remove the aluminum ring that is press into the plastic case. Once, the ring is removed, reach in the Small slot with the tweezers and grab the wire. Now, gentle and I mean gently pull on that white wire until you enough wire to strip the teflon coating off. Now, use the pick to cut a little small **** in side where the battery cap ring goes. Now, put a very minute drip of glue in the wire ****. Push the wire into the glue **** with the pick. Now, you can install the aluminum battery cap ring. Gently push it down and let the glue dry. Your done...awesome, no. GB...stewbison walk gently upon this earth, and she will good to you.... NO means Yes here!

I don't know how to work this, we received a Night Owl Explorer Nocx3 for Christmas several years ago. The instructions got lost and it as set in a draw ever since. I have stored the battery out of the monocular and when it is put in and turned on there are flashes of light but i can't see anything. help please

Hello Here Night Owl Optics owner manual web site for your monocular: One more thing. DO NOT LOOK THROUGH NV MONOCULAR DURING THE DAY, OR LOOK AT BRIGHT LIGHTS. This will destroy the image intensifier tube. Bright lights will make it go south faster than Speedy Roadrunner. I need parts if the image tube is gone. Night Owl Optics in El Paso, TX will charge you about $200 plus parts and shipping to repair it. So, listen no looky at bright lights in the neighbor bedroom window, hey. GB...stewbison
