Our group has 2 pairs of Canon Image Stabilizer 10x30 IS binoculars which have served our students well for geological fieldwork. Recently, one pair was taken off the coast of California to do viewing and fieldwork from a boat and kayaks. Subsequently, the binoculars got wet, have salt crystals in the workings and the stabilizer has stopped working. Thus, we need repair and cleaning. Do you do service of this sort? Is it possible to fix these?

When salt water gets in ..if its not cleaned soon then its probably to late...the cost of repair wuld be more than a new

My 18x50 IS binoculars are broken; the right eye piece won't focus and I hear a clunk inside when I turn it over; the left focuses just fine. What can I do and where; here in las vegas?

Sounds like you've dislodged one of the prisms inside. A service center can look it over for you, but from personal experience, it's cheaper to replace them than pay to ship them to/from the service folks plus the estimation fee just to find out that they'll have to be replaced, anyway. Sorry.

Poor quality Image quality is very poor. Binoculars are OK, but not well fit to the face. Photo of a bird was so bad it was impossible to identify the image, although the binocular view was reasonable. The 10 power size is a bit too much for these small binoculars and 7 power would be more reasonable. Overall this camera/binocular is not worth owning. Help! I have a Vivitar Digital 10/25 Camera Binocular (not listed as a Magnacam). I've tried all possible variables using the operation manual and can't get a decent picture to come out. This was a Christmas gift and I'm unable to return it to a store. I would not buy it if I were looking to do so as I can't figure out how to get a decent picture. I was so looking forward to using it when we got it for's just what we needed...I'm very disappointed with this item. Would love some help with this issue!!!

My response to these always makes me sad. There is no way of getting good picture. These camera binoculars are neither good cameras or binoculars. They do neither well. The camera is just attached to the binoculars. What you see through the binoculars is not what the camera sees. The binoculars magnification is not the same as the lens in the camera. It is like holding a camera on top of a pair of binoculars. The camera will take a picture in the area approximate to where you are looking. Digital cameras have a sensor. The more megapixels the larger the sensor should be. Camera makers are now making compact cameras with huge megapixel capacity without increasing the sensor size. The result is worse looking pictures. Not much is different with the cameras attached to binoculars only the sensors are much worse quality than those on a stand alone digital camera. Maybe not the solution you wanted buts its the truth. If you do want to take bird photos your best bet is a pair of binoculars on a tripod with a digital camera adaptor and camera attached. The camera adaptors that are made in China are not expensive and are copies of some of the high priced units out there. all the adaptor is is a bracket which attaches to a tripod which holds the camera to one of the binocular lenses. That way you see what the camera sees through the binoculars.

My Canon 15 x 50 IS binoculars are not working well. The green light goes on but I just get an occasional flicker from the motors - most of the time the image is not stabalized. New batteries have not helped.

Sounds like the Motor is shot. I could contact Canon, as this is not user-fixable.

While hiking, I lost the left eyecup on my Celestron ED 6.5 x 44 binoculars. Not lost is the eyepiece lens. The lost part is a rubber cup that may also include a metal sleeve with a fine internal thread. It seems like the sleeve would screw onto the body while having the rubber eye cup stretched over the other end. I can show with a picture. I need the part or the manual diagraming the part in order to get the binoculars working again. Thank you.

Http:// to write or call the manufacturer on this support site..I tried to find a tab with parts but there seam to not be available or the parts are described by functions ..and yours seam to be a sub-part ..Just write them or use the phone ..and if they have such a part they will guide you to order it ..

I dropped my Nikon Action Lookout III binoculars, ...

The same happened to my Mizar 10X25 I tried things like moving the front lenses but then I discovered that most probably the binoculars fell on one of the four corners, this caused the tubes' direction to be twisted. It could be that the left is pointing slightly down or the right is pointing slightly up, which is essentially the same, and which is what happened to mine. You can discover this miss-alignment by watching using both eyes and then close and open one of them the phantom image will appear and disappear. What you have to do is apply a force with your hands twisting the binoculars one tube up and the other down and hold where you can see clear, I just discovered this and it works, I think I should be able to re-align them again, but I haven't faund how to do so. If you find a different solution please let me know here:
