I cannot get my finderscope red dot to lineup with my main scope ,its a SKP13065EQ2 .it will not lineup , i did send SKYWATCH a e-mail and that was almost 2 mths ago .i did line up the main scope like it said in the master book ,on page 11 (using the red dot finder) and i got as far as number 3 ,then it all went out the window,i could not get to number 4.i tryed to turn both the AZIMUTH and ALTITUDE to bring it in line and it will not do as it says in the book.i looked in the main to make sure it was in line with to object(it was) but the dot was not.i went to the FULL max on both and still no joy.i did find that the finder 'when you add the finder and screwin to lock it moves about 2-4 mm to the left.with this i worked out it was about 1and a half-2 inchs off.i was thinking of drilling another hole or mark it to see if i can get it to line up the right way.i do not want to spend £200 and keep looking from the back to line up the scope all the time .don't get me wrong i love the scope i got but its a pain in the *** when something will not go right. any help on this and how to fixit

Can you return the red dot finder? It's apparently broken. These can be purchased (not too very expensive)here:http://www.telescope.com/control/category/~category_id=finder_scopes

Does my telescope needs acounter weight to keep it still even when the motor is off?

Hi.I have the same problem.I bought a few 1oz magnets and place them under the tube at the bottom by the mirror. They counter ballance the real eyepieces. Depending what I put in the focuser tube determines how many magnets. Better yet, dump that junk if you can.I hope to. Gerry

I struggle to use the finder scope on the telescope, is it rubbish or is it me. i would like to change the rdf but it looks like its unique to this scope, nothing else looks like it, the mount does not look like any other mount on other rdf, i,m i stuck with this one or are they any other rdf i could use on this scope with the same mount. the telescope is fab but spend most of the time trying to aline rdf. celestron is such a big manufacture in telescopes and dont recon they would supply a scope with a hard to use finder. 2 red dots and 2 circles need to be lined up at an object, in day light fine but a nightmare against the dark sky, any tips if i'm stuck with it? cheers

No you can buy many different kinds of finder scopes and mounts-- look here:http://www.telescope.com/control/accessories/telescope-finder-scopes

Sighting in red dot shotgun scope

Load your gun up and when you can shoot it, aim with your new glass(Scope) and lay out a group of three slugs, not buckshot, (i'm assuming your shooting a shotgun). Then use some trial and error to tighten your dot to your grouping. I don't blame you for the confusion, but normally, most scopes set up for this adjustment pattern are moving your target according to the knobs, not your crosshairs or dot. Another option you have is to buy a laser bore sighter. then you can play with adjusting your scope for in the field or wherever with much more comfort when you need to. You can find them online at walmart or almost any sporting goods store these days, yes they save ammo and yeas they save time, but i still shoot to make sure i'm dead on after using mine.

Put the eyepiece with the LARGEST number written on it into the telescope. DO NOT use the 2x barlow if you have one.Try focusing on a distant object during the daytime.

The battery for the red dot finder scope on my Bushneel 78-9669 scope appears to be dead.\r\nHow do I remove the dead one ? What is the button battery number for a new one? Thanks.......Mike

Most red dot finders use a small watch style battery-- there will either be a compartment underneath and or something that opens on the side that contains the watch battery.
