Orion xt 10

I am just about a complete astronomy novice. I bought an orion xt10. I bought it through C-7 and paid for them to collimate it and had it delivered. I followed the manual to set it up. I have not set up the intelli-scope locating device. Thus, I do it "manually" for now. When I look through the skyscope to locate an object and put it on the cross-hairs, I then look through the eyepiece (provided by orion through telescope purchase and it appears that I cannot see the target any more magnified or clearer than the skyscope. I've tried the other eyepiece that came with it, and I have also

Hello... I'm kinda new to all this, so please bare with me! I recently purchased a used Orion Skyview 6 Deluxe EQ. The scope is in great shape and things look great through it. However, it did not come with a Correct Image I purchased one. (The Orion Correct-Image Diagonal 1.25") Now, with that in place, I can't get ANYTHING in focus! Is it not the correct diagonal for the scope? The folks at Orion sent it to me and said it was the right one. Am I not installing it correctly? I'm putting it in the only way that it appears it would fit. Help!!! I was really hoping to look at stuff....right side up soon! Thank you!

First WHY would you use a erecting DIAGONAL in a reflector style telescope. Upside down images are completely normal for an astronomical telescope. You only need this diagonal for terrestrial viewing NOT for star gazing. ALL astronomical telescopes show upside down and or inverted images- it's completely normal. If you cannot come to focus with the erecting diagonal, it's probably because the diagonal moves the eyepiece too far OUT away from the point where the scope comes to focus. Again-- you do not use those for night time sky viewing. Just stick the eyepiece directly into the focuser.
