I have a LX90 Lnt 8 inch scope that I purchased new in 2004.
Whenever the scope slews it continues to slew just beyond
the point the directional keys are released.
There is probably a mechanical resistance or misadjustment in the slewing mech, or a slightly worn part. The keys could also be slightly worn, creating a delay, or there could be slight oxidation on the key contact area, which could possibly be cleaned, but usually needs replacement due to it's design. A service manual would have the calibration and alignment procedure, if you could get Meade to send you one (they might prefer you to have it serviced at a great rate (for them). If the unit is in warranty, enforce that. They might just swap it out for a new one. If the warranty isn't in effect, you can contact Meade and see what they suggest:
You can learn to adjust for the irregularity, hopefull, otherwise the unit will have to be serviced.
Good luck, and hope this helps. Read More At : 8" LX90 Schmidt-Cassegrain Telescope non-UHTC w/Autostar......
