Hello, is the IR glowing red, don't look into the IR lens. Just place your hand in front of it and see the is a red glare on your had. If there is a red glare then IR is work.Another thing when you taking a look see through the Night owl NV monocular there should be a green glow from the image intensifier tube, if not, then the NV monucular isn't working properly. stewbison

Operating Problem The optic device still turns on and off, and the infa-red works on it as well, the two functions of the device. However, when I turn the device on and look through the monocular at night or in darkness, i see nothing and no light or image whatsoever is being put through the eyepiece. In short, i see the same thing while looking through the monocular while it is on, as i would while it is off. The problem MAY be due to light exposure, I'm not sure. Anyways, please help me or give me any input, because I'm thinking about just finding a place to send it for repair.

It sounds like the light "pickup" at the front is not working,, was it stored with the front lens cap fitted and in the dark? if not you may have bamaged this "pickup" it could also just be dirt on it,,you can undo the front lens and clean the "pickup" if the unit is turned off and you use a soft lint free cloth
