Name of scope . Yukon . Problem : I tried to replace a battery in the dark. Removed the wrong part by relative force . Scope damaged. Two tubes on the front of the scope one is the battery tube and th

I would strip the wires as carefully as I could and get them back together, get the 2 AA batteries back in there, and see what happens. Then go about making a permanent splice in the wires and getting the lens to stay on there, or ship it back to Russia for repairs. Or find somebody to do it. I'm sure it can be done. Hope this helps.

I own a Pentax PF80-ED spotting scope with a Pentax SMC Zoom Eyepiece 20x-60x #70509. I recently lost the eye relief ring from the end of the eyepiece. This piece of plastic must have come unscrewed and fallen off. I called Pentax Service Department and was told they don't repair these scopes and they gave me the parts dept no.. I called the parts department and was told that tghey don't stock spotting scope parts and that I would have to return the scope and they would repair or replace it, They refused to tell me if they would charge me for the replacement. This scope cost over $1,000, and the missing ring is a $5 or $10, part. Any ideas on how I can get this part or how I can get in touch with an actual service department worker (not customer dervice)? The scope is 8 years old, so I assume it is out of warranty

Unfortunately, you're at the mercy of the parts/service department. They made it, they have the parts, and you're in a rough spot. I would advertise on Craigs list about the relief ring, and see if you get a hit. Someone might have a broken scope with the ring intact. It's about your only shot, short of calling gun shops across the country for a good used one, or one for parts. And yes, if you could get to the service or parts department, you might be able to procure one, but that would take trying to get a number for them and trying to contact them, which might be possible with some ingenuity and finesse. Wish I had more, but hope this helps.

I purchased a Fujinon 3.5-10X50 rifle scope a few years ago and mounted it on a Remington 7 MM Mag. I am unable to pull a group less than 12 inches at 200 yards and have not been able too since installing the new scope. I removed the scope and replaced with a Redfield 6X40 fixed and I am now able to shoot 2 inch groups. I never reinsatlled the Fujinon but would like to send the Fujinon scope in for repair so I can install it on a different rifle and begin using it. I really like the Fujinon optical clearity and would like to start using it again.

It is most likely the mounts not the scope. I would just install it on the new gun and check it there. Most times a scope that wanders is the mounts. One thing with big scope is they need to be tight or the recoil will move it in the mounts. Next due to being tight when the gun heats up it can and will tweak the scope in the mounts enough to move your center. Try it in your other gun, try 3 shot groups and let the gun cool. Recheck your center. If it is good with a cold gun all is well. If it moves from one day to the next it is the mounts. If you count the clicks to recenter, come back the next day and move it the same clicks, it is the mounts. If it is all over the place, day after day it is the scope.

Fixing a remington scope

Repair manuals will be extremely difficult to get if there was such a thing you're best hope would be an exploded diagram with parts list the tools required are specialised so unless you want to make your own finding them will be difficult and expensive buy a couple of old scopes and strip them down and rebuild them for practice

I have a broken elevation spindle, the little aluminum casting that passes through the plastic driven gear and ultimately ends in 4 tapped holes that the sleeve bolts to that holds the optical tube. We tried to repair this with JB Weld Epoxy, and it held for one night, but it broke again when moving the scope. Is a replacement spindle casting available from any source? Although I am an engineer, and if money were no object, I could probably reverse engineer this part, produce a blueprint from many careful measurements, go to a foundry, and have a new one cast (or drop forged) in stainless steel, it would cost many times more than the telescope itself, and for that price I could just get a much bigger scope with a far more rugged mount. The original damage happened when the motorized mount was in a duffel bag that someone knocked off the tailgate of a pickup. It fell about 3 feet and impacted on hard rocky terrain. Visually it appeared to be undamaged until the weight of the tube was applied, then it was obvious something had broken. I have some pictures of the part and exactly where it goes if it has a different name than what I described. So i need a good part number for this part, a valid address and price and delivery information to order one from. If someone has built an aftermarket one from something like stainless steel or similar stronger material, so much the better, as it might also stiffen the scope and reduce vibration and oscillation when one bumps the eyepiece while observing.

Meade "MAY" sell you the part? Usually they want you to send the scope back. Call customer service:http://www.meade.com/support/index.htmlThis is also a problem on the ETX model scopes. There are some ingenious fixes posted on the Mighty ETX web site.Here:http://www.weasner.com/etx/menu.html Bassically bolts, washers and nuts.Search the web site for Broken DEC knob.
