Where can I get help re-assembling my DS-70EC Telescope? The moving company took apart the telescope when packing out my household goods. I have all the parts (at least I think I do). The disassembly is not down to the piece parts but it is beyond my capability to do without help.

All of meade's manuals are on this web site: under the DS headers.

The focuser on my Meade DS-70 telescope is broken, the problem is the rack part of the rack and pinion is missing several teeth in two sections. The rack appears to be part of the inner tube, so replacing the rack does not appear to be possible. One fix I was thinking of was a typical bar/pipe clamp except there are a 2nd and 3rd set of clamps in place where the pads would normally go. I could then clamp the 2nd & 3rd clamps to the inner & outer tube and then use the main clamp to adjust focus. However I can't seem to find anything like this online.

You can return this to Maede for repairs-- or they might sell you the parts.Call them here:

I am looking for Galileo cc-2 replacement parts. I have no idea what any of these parts are because I know nothing about telescopes. There is no lens in the eyepiece, so I need to replace whatever is needed. The only numbers I can find are the cc-2 model number along with 700mm focal length and 60mm objective. If any one has an idea on where to get some help on this I would be greatly appreciative. Thanks for your time, Joe

I have a Meade ETX 60 / 70 AT. When I moved to Louisville a few years ago. The telescope would no longer initiate and could not find my location. I put the telescope away and did nothing with it. It is a great piece of equipment and I would like to get going again. I called Meade customer service and they said to buy a new one. My question is - anybody who could evaluate the telescope? Any contacts, clubs, etc? Any help would be appreciated. Bill

Most repairs will be MORE than the telescope is worth. You can buy these used (and working) on from time to time for under $200.Meade will repair this for about $175. So it makes no sense. The only thing I would try is a new hand controller cable. If it still does not work then you may be able to seell it for parts on
